Introduction :
At Axeal, I collaborated with a French army defense company to design an engaging augmented reality training application using the Unity 3D engine. During this project, I worked in collaboration with another company that had developed a visual scripting plug-in for Unity 3D.
Project Context :
The defense company needed an application to train foreign soldiers on technological concepts and tools in an engaging and effective manner. They requested an augmented reality application on Unity 3D to allow for observation of 3D models and more efficient information transmission.
Project Objective :
The client's objectives included creating an application showcasing 3D models in augmented reality with a playful approach, the ability to integrate diagrams and videos, a comprehensive interface, and the user's ability to understand the presented information through a combination of interface, 3D models, and augmented reality.
Project Description :
Several stakeholders were involved in the design, including the client and the other company responsible for the plug-in. As project manager, I organized weekly meetings to present progress. I also handled the modeling of models and special effects, as well as the integration of elements validated by the client into Unity 3D.
Issues Encountered and Solutions Implemented:
Frequent changes requested by the client posed a major challenge. I took measures by locking certain aspects during meetings to avoid constant modifications. I also increased the frequency of meetings for quicker feedback, thus ensuring project stability and meeting deadlines.
Conclusion :
The development and deployment proceeded smoothly. As project manager, I gained valuable experience in organizing with various stakeholders. The application is still being used to train soldiers, and I enhanced my technical and design skills through this project.
